Day Care Centers Risk Management Plan Illinois Department of Children Family Service require that day care centers shall develop a risk management plan that identifies operational risks and species ways to reduce those risks. Procedures must be established for emergencies and crisis. A comprehensive, 30 page, DCFS approved Risk Management Plan is available for centers to use as a guide, or modify as needed, to fit the centers needs. Areas addressed in the document include; training, maintenance, vehicles, food storage, food service, food service sanitation, equipment maintenance, chemicals, supplies, toy selection, toy maintenance, sanitation, emergency preparedness, evacuations plans and fire procedures.
